First World Feminism
What's the point of this website?

A fair question. Two quick answers:

1. Those of us lucky enough to live in the most progressive parts of the world tend to focus on how good we have it, and yet we still haven’t achieved true gender equality.

2. I’m over trying to pitch women’s magazines. If the story isn’t about slimmer thighs for summer, they’re just not interested.

This stuff is important, I’ll try not to make it too dry.

A friend of mine posted this video on her Facebook wall yesterday with the following comment:

The “behind the scenes” ad for Entourage where they show they have a female writer so they couldn’t possibly be sexist is ridiculous on so many levels. Maybe next they should show they have college-educated writers so the show couldn’t possibly be retarded.

The douchebag actors gesture to Ally Musika and grumble, “For people that would accuse the show of being misogynistic, one of your own is writing these jokes.” They use air quotes when saying “one of your own.” My friend points out that they should have used air quotes when saying “jokes.”
