First World Feminism
What's the point of this website?

A fair question. Two quick answers:

1. Those of us lucky enough to live in the most progressive parts of the world tend to focus on how good we have it, and yet we still haven’t achieved true gender equality.

2. I’m over trying to pitch women’s magazines. If the story isn’t about slimmer thighs for summer, they’re just not interested.

This stuff is important, I’ll try not to make it too dry.
Don’t know if you read about this, but there’s been a bit of controversy over W’s December cover where some claim that Demi Moore’s hips were photoshopped to be narrower than her thighs.
Moore denies it and, according to W, cover photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott “did not do anything unusual or out of the ordinary on Demi Moore for the photo on the cover of W.”
In other words, they do what they always do: compulsively hide the cover model’s flaws to give her an avatar appearances that bears no resemblance to an actual human.
