First World Feminism
What's the point of this website?

A fair question. Two quick answers:

1. Those of us lucky enough to live in the most progressive parts of the world tend to focus on how good we have it, and yet we still haven’t achieved true gender equality.

2. I’m over trying to pitch women’s magazines. If the story isn’t about slimmer thighs for summer, they’re just not interested.

This stuff is important, I’ll try not to make it too dry.

Comic Writing Moms

My ex-boyfriend’s sisters are these awesome feminist moms, one of whom is a graphic novelist named Jennifer Hayden. When she’s not working on her book, The Story of My Tits, she’s writing a webcomic called Underwire about parenting.

Comic

She said this once and I think it’s very wise:

Follow your heart. Be fearless. If a project you have in your head scares the out of you, makes you feel like you’re standing on a ledge somewhere, then that’s the one. Why wait? You’ll be dead soon—might as well make your mark.
