Three Reasons Having Kids is a Good Idea
Motherhood is the most important part of life: “I wish I’d had the advice that I am giving to my 21-year-old sister: if you find a great guy, don’t be afraid to settle down and have kids because there isn’t anything to miss out on that you can’t do later (apart from having kids).”
Mothers make better career women: “You cannot be a mother without knowing something about selflessness, compassion, generosity, commitment, fierce loyalty and plain hard work. You cannot - surely - be a boss and not value assets such as those in your staff.”
Having kids makes women more liberal: According to a North Carolina State University study, “basically, women with children in the home were more liberal on social welfare attitudes, and attitudes about the Iraq War, than women without children at home.”
I don’t know if any of these arguments are compelling. To me what’s compelling is babies wearing bear ears. But note that a lot of the research says that childless women are just as likely to be happy as women with children.
